BE PAKISTANI AND BUY PAKISTANI....

Last Saturday I had attended a party arranged by my father’s friend we all family members were invited. When I reached there I was shocked by watching the dresses of all women for some time I felt that I was out of my own country. All most of the girls were wearing skirts, sleeveless shirts, pants etc. As we all know that dress is a sign of our culture and national identity but it also reflects our personal character. All nations are proud of their national dresses but in Pakistan I don’t know why people are adopting western trends??? Here the concept of adaptation is rising at higher level. Western dresses are completely different from Pakistani dresses. I am in favor of national dresses. I believe in the patriotic words “BE PAKISTANI AND BUY PAKISTANI.”
I observed that in any part of the world people prefer more their national dresses like at international forums, meetings and conferences. Our neighbors, the Indians put on kurta, dhoti and Ghandi caps. But we Pakistanis feel pride in putting on western dresses.
I know there are fashions even our culture has given us a variety of dresses. No doubt there are personal likes and dislikes but feeling shy of wearing Pakistani dresses is a sign of inferiority complex. On the other side western dresses include shirts, coats, skirts, miniskirts etc. according to me all these stuff like miniskirts, sleeveless shirts etc. are basically designed to display body parts. As compared to these dresses, Pakistani dresses are more attractive and graceful. According to me dress is basically designed to cover the body which enriches one personality and impresses others. So in my opinion instead of adopting other culture we should feel proud to putting on Pakistani dresses which is a sign of simplicity and encourages the power of nationalism…….
